The ACSM is pleased to announce our 2016 Annual Fall Exhibition, THERE’S A GILD FOR THAT! will open Sunday, October 23rd.
The exhibition will celebrate the many and varied gilds found in the Ardens during our history, as well as a look at those which are currently part of the community.
The wealth of experiences found in the gild tradition has grown and developed over the years. There are some which have remained essentially the same since their beginning and others which have morphed into new groups with similar, but slightly different themes and goals. Some have disappeared altogether, while contemporary groups have caught the enthusiasm of fresh ideas and created new gilds to serve a new population.
The Ardens have a strong and enthusiastic tradition of creativity and community action and the Gilds have been both a witness and a window into the life of the villages since the beginning.
We invite you to celebrate that tradition on October 23rd from 1-3 PM at the Arden Craft Shop Museum. We look forward to seeing you at THERE’S A GILD FOR THAT!
