The ACSM is excited to announce that we will have an intern from the University of Delaware this summer! Our intern, Liz Jones-Minsinger, is working toward her PhD in history and will be joining us for our Photographic Collection Project.
The 2016 Photographic Collection Project involves inventorying, rehousing, describing, and scanning the Arden Archives Photographic Collection and making it available to the public. As time allows, additional photographic collections may be added, including the Ardensingers Collection, the Slide Collection, and various photo albums.
The Arden Archives Photographic Collection is a collaboratively amassed collection from the villages of the Ardens (Arden, Ardentown, and Ardencroft). The subjects include village residents, homes and other buildings, theatre, festivals and other events, and more. Because the collection is still accreting materials, the project will make plans and design procedures for future additions to the collection.
The most exciting part is that at the end of the project, a large portion of the ACSM's photographs will be searchable online!
